Math Teach-a-thon & Pi Day: Fundraising for Hope and Health
Hello! We are Liana, Isobel, Mike, and Isaac, elementary and middle school students in Santa Cruz raising donations for The Homeless Garden Project through our volunteering.
We teach small groups of kids to do competition math problems for free, discussing problems from Math Olympiad for Elementary and Middle School Students (MOEMS), MathCounts, and AMC10. You can learn more about what we do by reading the information in the Math Olympiad Fun Signup form. In 24-25, we collectively volunteered 51.5 hours across 22 students. So far, in the first half of 25-26, we have collectively volunteered 46 hours across 23 students.
We are also organizing a Pi day fundraiser event on March 14th where we will bake and sell pies and run math activities along with the students in our math group and High Street Community Church! Join us for savory pies (lunch!) at 12:40pm followed by dessert pies till the end. We will also have math activities from 1:59pm till 3:40pm, ending with a raffle prize drawing.
Thank you for donating to give hope to others and to support us in our goals! :D If you have any questions, you can email lianamleeee@gmail.com.
Your gift to the Homeless Garden Project will be directed to their Feed Two Birds campaign which helps to both provide organic healthy produce to community members who need it as well as support the individuals in their program make profound changes in their lives, building a path out of homelessness.
